I am a Barcelona based illustrator and have worked on assignments with different clients in Europe and America for almost thirty years. I started out illustrating with traditional art materials and years later gravitated toward the computer and the digital tools I employ today. I have enjoyed the challenge of working with all sorts of subject matter: op-ed stuff, literature, economy, religion, science, war & peace… And have developed a personal technique and conceptual style for creating my images. In recent years I have crafted a style that employs a black and white linear engraving look, as well as splashes of gestural vivid color. The search for concept in my illustration imagery lies always within the ironic game of opposites.
Due to a restless suitcase I have lived in many places in the world and am bilingual English-Spanish and speak Catalan as well. Besides my present home here in Europe, New Orleans is one of my favorite old haunts.
I had seven illustrations accepted into the permanent collection of the WID Department of the Victoria & Albert Museum in 2014. And I also coordinate and teach an international illustration course at the Italian ‘Instituto di Design’ IED in Barcelona.
